Our Story

In 1986, Bill Talley started his business, with the help of his wife Sara on Statesville Road off of I-77’s exit 28.  Bill opened what he thought would be an auto dealership and repair shop for specialty collectors’ cars. After a friend noticed the site's great visibility, he asked if he could put a few small boats on the lot to see if they would sell.  The boats took off faster than the cars and the Talleys started selling boats.

After selling a variety of boats, the Talley’s decided in 2002 to become an Exclusive Regal dealer.  While working with Regal they noticed similarities with their own company.  Paul Kuck started Regal in 1969 and, today, it is still run by the Kuck family.  Like Regal, Talley’s is a family run business.  Bill serves as the President, Sara handles the accounting side of the business, and  while son Billy acts as the Vice-President of the company, handling everything from advertising to sales.

While Regal builds high quality boats, customer satisfaction is key for both Regal and Talley's Pier 77 Marine.  Regal is the recipient of 5 J.D. Power and Associates awards and 19 Nation Marine Manufacture Association Customer Service awards.  Recently Talley’s was awarded Regal's first place award for Exceptional Service and Commitment to Customer Satisfaction among 150 Regal dealers in 45 countries around the world.

With two service facilities at their Statesville Road lot and at Kings Point Marine, both feature certified technicians with years of experience.  Talley's Pier 77 Marine is the largest Regal dealer in North Carolina and is one of the worlds largest Exclusive Regal dealers world wide.
